Do four-year-olds need a graduation ceremony?

More and more children are having mini graduation ceremonies from nursery, leaving parents wondering whether this is a step too far. Nurseries and pre-schools are offering “graduation” ceremonies for the three and four-year-olds about to leave for primary school. This can only mean one thing for parents – another thing to pay for, at an already expensive time of year. Tens of thousands of outfits are being sold every year in Europe, the Middle East and Far East, to replicate the ones worn by university students about to graduate. They can be bought for about £20 and are available in many different colours.
