Free school meals for six and seven year olds

Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, has recently defended his plans to introduce free school meals for six and seven year olds. £150m is required to roll out the scheme, £80m via the Treasury and £70m from underspend from the Department of Education maintainance budget. These universal free school meals are not to be means tested and will especially help families struggling who are not entitled to free school meals at present.
