Prime Minister Accused of Breaking Promise to Preserve Network of Sure Start Children’s Centres

Ed Miliband is set to accuse Prime Minister, David Cameron, of breaking his promise to preserve the network of Sure Start Children’s Centres. Children’s Centres were brought in by Labour as a way of supporting low-income families, but have seen closures in recent times – an estimated 576 Sure Start Centres have closed, partly due to the removal of the ring fence from the central grant that funds them.
