Increase in number of schools rated GOOD and OUTSTANDING

The BBC have reported that there has been a 9% increase in the number of schools in England that have been rated “good” or “outstanding” by Ofsted. Ofsted inspectors┬áchanged the way that schools were graded last year by changing the “satisfactory” rating to “requires improvement”.

England’s chief inspector of schools, Sir Michael Wilshaw, claims that schools, whilst happy with a “satisfactory” rating, are not happy with a “requires improvement” perhaps prompting an increase in improvements.
